Naperville was settled in 1831 by Joseph Naper and his brother John. The city was incorporated in 1890. Until the early 1970’s, Naperville was considered to be a far-off, rural Chicago suburb consisting mainly of farms and clusters of neighborhood developments.
Over the years, I have seen the fireworks displays in Naperville, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Warrenville, and Lisle. All have been fairly impressive. Ribfest Naperville is the most anticipated DuPage County summer festival. Over the past 10 years, the festival and venue have continued to grow – so have the crowds. Clearly, no home in DuPage County is immune to the sour turn the real estate market has taken, not even Naperville homes. There are a number of festivals and events hosted throughout DuPage County this summer. Below is a list of local events that you won’t want to miss.
