If you enjoyed NP’s concert version of “Gianni Schicchi,” you must catch their Valentine’s Pops, Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. at the MAC. New Philharmonic and Music Director/Conductor Kirk Muspratt presents a program of romantic favorites from the classical, including Tchaikovsky’s finest ballet score “Sleeping Beauty Waltz” and the beloved overture from “Romeo and Juliet;” to Broadway tunes from “Camelot” and “Porgy and Bess;” to love themes from the movies including “Superman” and “Forest Gump;” to pop selections such as Sting’s “Every Breath You Take.” NP will be joined by guest artist, baritone soloist Corey Grigg. Immediately following the performance there will be a free post-show reception with Muspratt and, in honor of the holiday, it will feature champagne, small tarts, and strawberries. Tickets to “Valentine’s Pops” are $50 for adults, $48 for seniors and $40 for youth. Call (630) 942-4000, or visit atthemac.org.
