Today, July 15th, marks the beginning of GroveFest in Downers Grove, IL. The featival is hosted in downtown Downers Grove and runs through the weekend, ending at 10PM on Sunday, July 18th. GroveFest is one of the better summer festivals in DuPage County, featuring carnival rides, live music, and tasty food. The carnival starts tonight…

Are you looking for a little bit of offbeat fun Halloween weekend? Check out the Haunted Flea Market at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 29th from 3PM to midnight. The event will feature a flea market loaded with frightfully-good deals. In addition to the flea market, there will be a beer garden, costume contests, a haunted house, and special guest stars from some of your favorite horror movies.
A public sale will be held at the old Hubble Middle School / Wheaton Central High School property in Wheaton on Friday and Saturday (October 14th and 15th). The school, located on the northwest corner of Roosevelt Road and Naperville Road in Wheaton is slated to be demolished.
The past five years have been tough on the downtown Glen Ellyn economy. Many longstanding businesses have closed or left the downtown area. Now, despite a tough economy, businesses are slowly returning. Two new businesses are set to open this fall and the hope is that more are still to come.
