Wheaton will host a Recycling Extravaganza event on Saturday, April 16th from 9AM – 1PM. The event will be held on the grounds of the commuter parking lot near Liberty Dr. and Carlton Ave in downtown Wheaton. This event is sponsored by the Environmental Improvement Commission.
Here’s a great opportunity for you to get a jump on your spring cleaning and clear out many of the items you have no idea what to do with. Items accepted at the recycling event include:
- Scrap metal
- Electronics (TV’s, stereos, computers, etc.)
- Books
- Batteries
- Propane tanks
- Eye glasses
- Cellular phones
In the past, I have seen cars lined up for more than a block waiting to drop off their recyclables. This annual event gets very busy, so get there early!
