Carol Stream is hosting its 6th Annual JustPlay! Sports and Recreation Festival Saturday, May, 21st (10AM-5PM) through Sunday, May, 22nd (11AM – 4PM). The free event, open to DuPage County and surrounding area residents, will be located at the Town Center in Carol Stream, located at 500 North Gary Ave.
Did you know that 65% percent of the adults in DuPage County suffer from obesity? Unfortunately, this trend is being passed on to DuPage’s youth. One third of DuPage County’s children now fall into the overweight category. The JustPlay! Festival is an event that comes as Carol Stream Park District’s response to the issue of childhood obesity. Keepinging active keeps kids (and adults) healthy, so get moving!
The JustPlay! event will feature performances by the Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team and Chicago Kite/Kite Harbor. Additionally, for the third year in-a-row, the Throw Down Show Down skate contest will be back in full-force showcasing local skateboarders. Other activities include:
- 5K Run
- Family Fun Run (walk too)
- Rocket Launch and Sailboat Racing
- Kid’s Dash
- Chess Tournament
- Bike Rodeo
- Euro-bungy
- Healthy Living Advisor Maribel Alchin
