The Virdict Restaurant in Wheaton

The Virdict Restaurant in Wheaton, is aptly named due to its proximity to the DuPage County courthouse, and has a fairly low-profile exterior. So much so, that you could potentially be driving right past it daily without even knowing it; that would be a real shame.

The interior is clean and diner-casual – nothing fancy, just comfortable. It is your typical family restaurant with booths lining the parimeter of the restaurant. I don’t go there for the ambiance.

What do I go there for? Honestly, if the food wasn’t any good, there wouldn’t be any reason for me to return. The food is excellent and you get tons of it at an exceptional value (hard to find these days).

The menu features a wide variety of dishes, from American standards to home-style Greek delights (with a wide range between). There are many options, many of which will excite your kids.

You get fresh bread with your meal. I like to dip it in my soup. The Virdict always has fresh, home-cooked-tasting soup (I like the Chicken and Rice). I usually get this to start with my gyro platter. Good stuff!

I’ve had dinner at this restaurant at least 10 times in the past two years. The food and service is consistantly excellent. In fact, that’s another thing that sets The Virdict apart (and above) from all the other punch-press, homoginized places like Chili’s and Applebee’s… Everytime I’ve walked into The Virdict, I’ve been geated by a friendly man (I assume to be the owner). When he welcomes you, you feel like he is genuinely happy to see you, not that he’s just greeting you because of a corporate policy or script.

The Virdict is located on the south end of the stripmall located near the corner of Roosevelt Road (Rt 38) and County Farm Road in Wheaton.
