There are many children in DuPage County who’s families do not have the financial resources to obtain even the most basic of school supplies. These are tough economic times that hit low-income families very hard. Many families in need barely have the financial means to put food on the table or to pay for basic care necessities.
Here is an opportunity to help without placing too much burden on your own wallet… The Humanitarian Service Project in Carol Stream is partnering with the DuPage Regional Office of Education and other local social service agencies to provide school supplies for needy DuPage County students. Some of the items needed include: paper, pencils, pens, notebooks, crayons, folders, markers, colored pencils, highlighters, rulers, safety scissors, erasers, glue sticks, and backpacks. If you would like to donate any of these items in new-condition, they can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Humanitarian Service Project center at 465 Randy Road in Carol Stream.
These items will be bundled and given to students in need. Every little bit helps, so please consider contributing to those in our community who could use a helping hand. For more information contact (630) 221-8340 or visit visit humanitarianservice.org
