With the first day of school mere weeks away, the endless summer days, are in fact, coming to an end (and kids everywhere groan).
Below is a list of school starting dates coming in the next few weeks. These are organized by school district. Please be sure to verify the dates and time details with your particular school; there can be variances in dates and times for individual schools within a district.
Most walk-in registrations are coming to an end this week as schools try to finalize their 2011-2012 enrollment. Even if you have already registered your student for the school year, you may want to verify that you have submitted all of the required forms. Some districts may require one or more of the following:
- Dental Exam
- Vision Exam
- Doctor Visit/Exam with proof of required immunizations
Check with your school district to verify that you have submitted all required documentation.
Don’t wait to get your school supplies either! It’s always frustrating running from store-to-store trying to find the crazy and obscure school supplies required in many schools these days. You may find better school supplies deals online this year; retailers are looking at the back-to-school season to increase sales after a sluggish first half of the year.
DuPage County Back-To-School Dates
Elmhurst School District 205
The first day of school is Thursday, August 18th. Please see the district calendar for more information regarding varying dismissal times on this date.
Indian Prairie Community Unit School District 204
Kindergarten preview days are Monday and Tuesday, August 15th and 16th. The official first day of school is Monday, August 22nd. More details are available online.
Lisle Community Unit School District 202
Classes begin on Monday, August 22nd for grades 1-12. Additional details are available on the Lisle District 202 website.
Naperville Community Unit District 203
Naperville schools start school year on Wednesday, August 17th for grades 1-12. The first day of Kindergarten can vary by school, please check the School District 203 website for more information.
Westmont Community Unit School District 201
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 24th. Please check the District 201 website for more information.
Wheaton-Warrenville Community Unit School District 200
The first day back to school for grades 1-12 is Tuesday, August 23rd. This is a half-day of school with attendance only in the morning hours. The first day of school for Preschool and Kindergarten students is the following day, Wednesday, August 24th (a regular schedule resumes on this day for all district students).
