Oktoberfest – American Legion Post, West Chicago

Saturday, September 29th – 6PM to 11PM

A night of polka music and German food awaits you at the West Chicago Oktoberfest.  The event being held at the American Legion Post at 123 Main Street in West Chicago. Attendees will enjoy the music of The Mike Schneider Polka Band.  Doors will open at 6PM with dinner being served at 7PM.  Call Melissa at 630-621-0128 to purchase advance tickets for $18 ($20 at the door).  Ticket prices do not include alcohol, there is a cash bar at this event.

Oktoberfest –  Naper Settlement, Naperville

Friday, October 5th – 4PM to 10PM / Saturday, October 6th – 11AM to 10PM

Celebrate autumn and the German heritage.  The Naperville Oktoberfest event features tasty German food & beer and a lineup of great live music brought to you by some of the areas best live bands.

Saint Charles Scarecrow Fest – Downtown, St. Charles

Friday, October 5th (9AM-9PM) / Saturday, October 6th (9AM-9PM) / Sunday, October 7th (9AM-6PM)

Just beyond the western border of DuPage County in St. Charles, you’ll find one of the area’s biggest and best fall festivals, Scarecrow Fest.  This annual event draws thousands of residents from both DuPage and Kane counties and features a scarecrow competition, carnival rides, arts & crafts, live entertainment, and plenty of good food.  The event is held in downtown St. Charles.

Oktoberfest – Lynfred Winery, Roselle

Saturday, October 6th (3PM-9PM) / Sunday, October 7th (12PM-7PM)

Come out and enjoy two days of “German sing-a-longs, grape spitting, grape stomping and cork tossing!” at Lynfred Winery’s annual Oktoberfest event.  Come out and enjoy some great food (including a full pig roast at this event) and wine.  There is $3 entrance fee for this event, but children aged 13 and younger are free.  A full schedule of this years event can be found here.

Cantigny Fall Festival – Cantigny Park, Wheaton

Saturday, October 13th (10AM-4PM)

What better place is there to spend a beautiful fall day than at Cantigny Park?  This annual event is a great time for the entire family, and costs just $5 for parking!

Kids will have a great time jumping in one of the on-site inflatables jumpers or taking part in one of many activities including:  face painting, hay rides, petting zoo, book fair, fall festivalspumpkin decorating, a candy dive and much more!  Parents can enjoy the changing colors of autumn while browsing the festival’s arts and crafts show.

Danada Fall Festival – Danada Farm, Wheaton

Sunday, October 14th (8AM-5PM)

Celebrate the fall season with a trip to the Danada Farm in Wheaton.  Located on the east side of Naperville Road, just south of Butterfield Road, Danada Farm is a park district operated equestrian farm.  This family-friendly event features horses, hay rides, a petting zoo, and refreshments.

There is no admission fee for this event and free on-site parking is available.  Please visit the DuPage County Forest Preserve website for more information about this fun fall event!

Haunted Halloween Flea Market – DuPage County Fairgrounds, Wheaton

Saturday, October 27th (3PM-12AM)

Check out some ghostly-good deals and fiend-like-finds at the Haunted Flea Market.  Be sure to come dressed in your Halloween costume; prizes will be awarded to those wearing the winning costume from one of many categories.   The DuPage County Fairgrounds are located at 2015 West Manchester in Wheaton.  More details for this event will be coming soon so please check back for additional details…

Halloween Town – Wagner Community Center, Elmhurst

Saturday October 27th (3PM-5PM – This event time is strictly for ghouls and goblins age 9 and younger.) / Saturday October 27th (7PM-9PM – This event time is strictly for mummies and witches age 10 and up.) 

Come and celebrate Halloween in a safe, fun environment.  The community center will be transformed into Halloween Town where there will be plenty of fun games and activities for kids.

Some of the fun that awaits your child include:

  • Inflatable jumpers
  • Costume contest
  • Haunted house
  • Carnival games
  • Tasty treats

Admission to this event is $10 per child (for an event wristband).  Registration and wristbands purchases can be made at the Wagner Community Center, 615 N. West Avenue in Elmhurst.
